Taiwanese Soprano, Tzu-Jung Jennifer Wang, is passionate about collaboration and continues to explore the vast music styles in different cultures. This Summer, she debuted as Suor Genovieffa/Suor Angelica in Prague, Czech Republic, and as Morgana/Alcina with the Chicago Summer Opera. In the past season, she performed the role of Penny in the world premiere of Sutto’s one-act opera buffa, Lost in the Scroll, at the Mostly Modern Festival. Ms. Wang's previous engagements include Barbarina/Le nozze di Figaro, Adèle/Malvina, and Masha/Enemies, A Love Story. As a concert soloist, Ms. Wang has performed Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with pianist Seho Young in Barrington, IL., and sung at the Peabody New Star Concert at Taiwan’s National Concert Hall in 2023.

As a vibrant choral artist, Ms. Wang currently serves as a section leader with the Presbyterian Church of Barrington Sanctuary Choir. Additionally, she is in her second season as a member of the Chicago Choral Artists, with which she participates in their Fall and Spring concert series. Ms. Wang has also worked as a section leader in both Peabody Camerata and Grace United Methodist Church. In the past seasons, she appeared as a soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Williams’s The First Nowell, Fauré’s Requiem, Peter Gilbert’s Tsukimi, and participated in the world premiere of Tina Tallon’s Evolved Air. The experience of working with living composers during her study at Peabody Camerata cultivated her passion for new music. 

Ms. Wang holds a B.F.A. in Voice Performance from Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, and M.M. in Voice Performance & Pedagogy at the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University where she received the George Castelle Award and Charles P. Sachs Scholarship—Ms. Wang is currently based in Schaumburg, IL.
